Spread the love

In 2022, Hanukkah begins at sundown on Sunday, December 18, and continues through Monday, December 26.
The traditional foods eaten during the 8 days of Hanukkah, involved oil, so wherever you are in the world, choose fried foods. As we mentioned before after the Maccabees restored the temple, there was just enough oil in the Menorah to burn for one day only, yet the miracle of Hanukkah is that the oil, burned for 8 days. Therefore, frying savory and sweet foods in oil are the most important foods in Hanukkah!
Potato Latkes, Fried Chicken, Veal Milanese, Brisket, Jelly doughnuts [sufganiyot], Poutine, Honey Balls [struffoli], Chocolate Gelt, Rugelach cookies, Hamantaschen.
My favorite Jewish Recipes are from Jamie Geller, she even has gluten free, and vegan recipes for the Jewish table. Make sure you get her books.
